A variety of different-sized painted wood Japanese dolls called Kokeshi from the early 20th century. Each of the dolls are different and range in size from approximately 57cm high to 37cm and are hand signed by the artist. Each is in good vintage condition and most date from the 1950s and 1960s making them great collector's pieces.

Kokeshi are simple wooden toys that have been crafted for more than 150 years in the Tohoki-chiho region of north-east Japan. They are also traditionally symbols of hope for bountiful harvests or prayers for good luck and fortune. Each is uniquely painted and signed to the base with their maker's name. They are made from a variety of different woods from the lighter white dogwood or mizuki to cherrywood, camellia and maple.

Returns policy
