Lovely early desk or small dining table in curved laminated birch wood with the original black laminated top from the late 1930s or early 1940s. This elegant table was designed by Finnish designer Alvar Aalto for Artek, the furniture company he founded in Helsinki in 1935. The rich, matt surface contrasts beautifully with the lightly patinated birch frame and is a practical yet elegant surface suited to everyday use.

There are some surface scratches to the top (as shown) commensurate with age and use.
