Louis Montaigu (french 1905-1988) - 'Beach Scene at Low Tide', depicting the wide, flat expanse of La Plage de Berck, oil on panel, signed, approx 18cm x 26cm, within a painted wooden frame.
Montaigu had a vibrant love for the Côte d'Opale and one of the last of the “Berckois artists” (following likes of Eugène Boudin) from Berck, the northern French seaside commune nestled between the English Channel and the tip of the river Authie.
