Rare blue & white transfer printed dish. Thomas Wolfe, considered to be one of the pioneers of underglaze blue printing on earthenware, had a factory in Stoke-on-Trent between 1784-1800. This dish is likely one of his early examples.
It measures 23cm in diameter and is decorated in a Chinoiserie style transfer of very deep blue. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
