Richard Hornby Hall/Writing Table

Mid century Richard Hornby for Fyne Lady afromosia wood side table. A rare high end console or hall table with some lovely design features such as the ‘invisible’ drawer pulls and the elegant little retaining edge that runs around three sides of the top. Afromosia was a dark African teak that was not suited to being used as a veneer, so was used by quality makers such as Fyne Lady in the late Fifties and early Sixties when it was replaced by teak as the wood of choice for contemporary furniture.
