Two painted wood Japanese dolls called Kokeshi of the early 20th century, the largest (24cm high) hand-painted with chrysanthemum design, the smaller (20cm) is hand-painted with red and yellow striped body.
Kokeshi are simple wooden toys that have been crafted for more than 150 years in the Tohoku-chiho region of North-East Japan
