Franck's drawings and paintings are held in the permanent collections of a number of major galleries around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum in New York. He is an uncommonly versastile man, holding degrees in medicine, dentistry as well as fine art, and it was in his capacity as a dentist that he worked with Dr Albert Schweitzer in Africa from 1958 to 1961.
His more than 30 books deal with Africa and Schweitzer as well as human spirituality and his particualr interest, Buddhism. His major creation was a sculpture garden and park adjacent to his home in Warwick, New York, which he called Pacem in Terris (or Peace on Earth) that he dedicated to Schweitzer, Pope John XXIII and the Buddhist teacher D.T. Suzuki.
