Cheek studied at Chelsea School of Art under Raymond Coxon and Ceri Richards from 1945-1948 and then at the Royal College of Art under Ruskin Spear, Carel Weight and Francis Bacon from 1948-51. His work is included in numerous private and public collections, including the Government Art Collection.
