John A. Powell (British, 1911-2003) 'Bouquet with Roses' pastel, artist's label verso, framed 31 x 36 cm
By the early 1960's he was appointed Vice Principal of the Nottingham College of Art and by the time he retired, he was Principal at Portsmouth College of Art.
His work was exhibited throughout the country including the Royal Academy, Victoria & Albert Museum, Whitechapel Art Gallery, National Maritime Museum
