Set of four Victorian blue and white transfer pottery plates in the highly collectable "Wild Rose" pattern. This bucolic scene depicts in the background Nuneham Park, the seat of Earl Harcourt, and a riverside cottage and two punts in the foreground. It is based on an 1811 engraving by W. Cooke after a drawing by S. Owen of the village of Nuneham Courtney, about five miles southeast of Oxford.
The plates are unmarked and are in excellent condition with no chips or obvious signs of wear. Diameter 22cm
